    Default Gday folks

signed up to forums awhile back and have just been reading bits and pieces here and there....great site with lots of good info,
am based in the Redlands(next to Brisvegas) and basically am a hobbyist woodworker and work with any timber that is heading for a woodchipper or the tip..so yea work with old building materials and also logs slabs, tree roots etc etc, basically whatever I can find around the place that is free. Some days I may hear the dulcid sounds of the Native wood chipper off in the distance of surburbia so I go for a quick drive until I find where it is and have a gander at what they are cutting down..Works for them and works for me so alls good...

once again great site....and great people from what I have read

P.S I have a friend that has a moreton bay fig that has been dropped(in varying sizes but basically huge...lol) in the redlands and there is truckloads of it if anyone who wants it for free otherwise it will be dumped...tree is over 100 years old so is one big mother..I will be cutting some up for my own use but it would take me 10 lifetimes to use what is there...lol

    regards

G'Day, Welcome to a top forum "Monaro".
You show find quite a few fellow members in and around the Brisbane region though I'm not sure about who lives on the bay.
I have friends at Cleveland & relo's at Victoria Point [be great to move back up home].
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork & recycling.
    Cheers, crowie

PS - Might be worthwhile adding a new thread in Free and or Timber for the tree.....

Welcome to the forum. Keep some for your self and then a few more bits that you think might come in handy.
