We have beern playing with our renovation design for about six months now, and thought we had everything finalised. We received a price (the first one, I admit) for the kitchen cabinets only and after we recovered our composure I started to rethink the whole thing. We don't want to live here into and beyond retirement, we think it will eventually become a rental, we don't want to overcapitalise.

Last night I sat down and redid the entire house, with the exception of the bits that we have already finished and won't change, and think it might work as well, and will cost a lot less, but it doesn't tick all the boxes.

So I was wondering, how many times you rethought your renovation before you got it "right", and how many times did you redo and redo it, only to go back to your original design?
