Loose change

John was in the Munruben pub and they had a competition
at the bar. Guess the number of $1 coins in the jar and
you could keep it.

John did a quick estimate and said, "$144". The barman
congratulated him and gave him the money in a plastic bag.

However, on arriving at his front door, John stumbled and
the coins dropped everywhere. Being a little "under the
weather" he decided to leave them there and pick them up
in the morning.

In the morning John's wife said, "I have just been out to the
front door and you will never guess what I found". John
confidently replied, "Let me guess, $144".

His wife responded, "No, there were 72 cartons of milk".
