My son is renovating his bathroom and has totally degutted it. He wanted to change where the bath/shower and vanity unit are located so he got in a licenced plumber to run new copper pipe before the new wall sheeting was installed. The plumber merely glued the copper pipes together with some American (I think) red glue that looked like Locktite (but wasn't).

My son is concerned that, if these joints ever leak, his tiled wall will need to be demolished. Does anyone know about this gluing method and the longevity/reliability of the joints?

Regards
Glenn
