    Default lillypilly timber uses?

i've been given a lillypilly tree (Acmena smithii) to mill up. it come from an old homestead here in the yarra valley. the usual questions are .
    1. has anyone milled one
2.if so what does it finish like.
3.what is the end use for the timber
and any other bits of info would be good. the tree is around one hundred years old but only 300mm through, and the growth rings aren't very disernable so it's very tight grained. in one of my books it says they grow along the whole east coast so i'm wondering if you blokes up north have cut up a few . regards charlsie

    Thumbs up Lilly Pilly

Big lilly Pilly tres provide pale , straight grained timber that is reasonably dense. It seems to be easy to work from what Stan Ciglinkski says.
I've turned some smaller pieces and it turned well.

after the first few blanks cut I didnt bother with anymore of it!

2.if so what does it finish like.
Like Artme said, it is quite dense, and very bland, but I found also very, very wooly, and dusty even when wet!
3.what is the end use for the timber
Not even good for firewood IMO, but there may/will be some people who have a use for it. Maybe pyography? who knows?
