real estate suggestions in Melbourne?
My wife and I will be moving back to Australia in 2008. We are moving to Melbourne and my wife will be working at the new synchrotron. I'm looking for suggestions as to where to look for a house in the monash uni area. We are looking for a quiet suburb. We have a 9 month old baby girl so we are looking for somewhere with good schools. We are in our 30's and 40's and arent into big nights out ( its a bit hard to be with a 9 month old )
I look forward to any suggestions
Andrew

Hey Andrew,
sorry I can't help- don't know the area too well...
It is a pretty subjective question, though I am sure some could offer their opinions.
maybe some more info could help...
What do you mean by good schools? private, public, religious, steiner, etc...
How far are you willing to travel?
etc...
anyway, hope the move goes well.
as with most, money and your budget may be the more important factor as to what areas you look in.
All the best.
EDIT- crossed posts (again!)
Hans.

If you can locate a newsagent that carries foreign newspapers its probably worth your time and effort to get saturdays Melbourne Age Newspaper.
Its got many real estate ads as well as other social information you may find helpful

Thanks Guys, I read the Age online. We were thinking of Mount Waverley or somewhere like that...?

Mount Waverly is well located as are the surrounding suburbs, it depends if you want a location close to public transport into the city centre or not. Being near Blackburn or Springvale roads makes it a straight run to the back of the Uni which Mt Waverly fits. It's probably best to get here and look around first, there are also nice spots as you head towards Burwood perhaps you can make contact with some of the staff already on site and ask about their choice of location.
John.
