G'day from Bella Vista, Sydney
Hello all you lumber junkies,
Just joined & I'm running 20 minutes late for work as I can't stop browsing this wonderful site.
Im from Bella Vista, which is located in the hills district of Sydney.
My main reason for joining was to source some burls & other timber for my new passion, knife making.
Ive been making knives for a while & will post some picks shortly.
If any Sydneysiders know of a good local burl supplier I would be ever so grateful.
Cheers
Luke

Welcome to the forums Luke.
Looking forward to the knife pics - some work in progress pics would be fantastic.
As for burls, I have no good ideas. There are some good timber suppliers such as Annagote or Trend but neither of them seem to sell many burls. There is a guy on the highway just the other side of Lithgow that sometimes has a few.____________________________________________________________

Welcome to the forum
I suggest you do a search for Burls in the Timber for sale section of the forum 1 fellow from Appin and one from Cecil hills at reasonable prices.

G'Day & Welcome Luke.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies and for the most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers from crowie
