    Default Adhesive needed???

I need an adhesive to stick lightweight aluminium strip tags to steel trays, it must be easy to use, stick like sh**t to a blanket, not degrade over time (20 + years) the trays will live outdoors and be subjected to extremes of desert heat and cold, oh and there are literally 10s of thousands of them to apply.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    No need to bump!

's answer has it all! 3m sticky stuff is used to hold planes together, they know a heap more than we do!

They have tapes designed to hold truck bodies together!

    Cheers,

Was looking for comments and suggestions from experienced users of adhesives, thought this would be a good site to ask the question, anyway posted the same request on another site and received a number of suggestions for sticky stuff that will do the job the best of which seems to be a Sikaflex product.

I don't often comment BUT you asked about adhesives for a particular job.

I gave the answer as that is what we use on motorhomes to literally stick them together. We also use Sikaflex but for your apllication tape is easier.

You gave the impression you ignored it and bumped your own thread after only 17 hours. Some people sleep.

I then got the page for you to look it up. Then you come back and offer no thanks and say a better site gave you a heap of info. What more do you want?

Did you want me to do the job for you as well?

    Jon,
I've used both sikaflex (pallets of it) and a 3M tape product in the course of fitting out/refitting about a dozen boats up to 24M long. Sikaflex is good stuff, but bloody messy. The 3M tape is marvelous stuff and much easier and cleaner to use. It's used to stick prestressed skins of sheetmetal to buses and boats. Use the sikaflex if you wish (Bostik seal and flex is cheaper BTW) but I know what I'd use and it wouldn't be sticky runny stuff that came out of a cartridge or a sausage.

    Hi Jon,

Here are the sites for the above mentioned products.

I was amazed by what Contact 3M has to offer - I thought they only did removable picture & coat hooks.
