Dear Forum members,

I'm looking for advice how to solve the following problem: I have two decks one on top of the other, and the upper deck underneath is looking horrible from the lower deck (see attached picture). I'd like to build a ceiling on the lower deck to get a double advantage: a) to cover these ugly beams, and b) make the lower deck dry during rainy weather. My preference is to have a ceiling covered by timber lining panels. What is the best material to install to make the ceiling waterproof from the water coming from the upper deck before attaching timber panels to it?

Thanks!
