Grahame from PWS
G'day,
Grahame Waterson from Professional Woodworking Supplies, as some of us from Melbourne know isn't good. He's been in hospital recently for major hip surgery and yesterday went into ICU where he still is with a very nasty infection.
So I'm sure any PMs (Gwat) or emails of encouragement or other would be very appreciated . I just spoke to Marita but as she was racing out the door to see him I forgot to ask which hospital he's in.

Yes, the big boy is in a bit of trouble. I spoke to his SIL (me neighbour) recently, she told me that he has not been well for a while.

Thanks heaps....
Hi All,
Yes 2008 could be written off!!! My hip replacement of October 2007 had some serious after effects, most of which occured at important times (Sydney & Melbourne Shows) After months of fighting recurring infections, my Surgeon decided on a Girdlestone operation, where basically the artificial hip is removed and not replaced. This removes any artificial 'hidey holes' for bugs, after 6 weeks of anti-biotics and 2 weeks without, if all's well the hip will go back in, roll on January 8th.
To complicate things on the day of my first attempt to go home I came down with secodary 'hospital bug' that put me back in ICU for 4 days.
In the meantime I'm either in bed or in the office in a wheelchair.
I hope that you will forgive any service 'glitches' during this saga. I would like to thank Michael, Stuart and James and my dear wife for filling the breach and keeping PWS going without your help goodness know where we'd be??.
To compound this, our shopping cart program was modified and caused some issues with site images etc. The experts are trying to fix it and hopefully all will be fully operational shortly.
2009 has to be better.......
Regards
Grahame

Grahame, same thing happened to my grandmother about 20yrs ago. When she had her 2nd hip replaced, the other one got a golden staph infection and had to be taken out.
She was about 18 mths without it, and while it was a little bit of a discomfort, she got by okay.
I had a knee replacement in March and it was the best thing I could of had done, its much better now, with none of the pain or problems that I was experiencing before hand.
Hope it all goes well for you.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Glad to hear the good news.
Thankfully you only had hipnotism. Imagine the trouble you'd be in if you had dicktheria!

Update & Thanks
First an update on my condition, another bug has appeared in the hip cavity, so we’re embarking on yet another 6 week course of IV antibiotics, followed by 2 weeks without which means I’m in a wheelchair until about March 11th, when hopefully the hip will go back in. At least I’m on the right side of the grass, subject to the politics of home healthcare, I should be back in the office almost full time mid next week.
Most importantly, thanks for all the good wishes, also thanks to Marita & Michael for keeping PWS going.
Regards
Grahane
