    Default Kwila Fence

Well, my project for the holidays is to finish my front fence.

I'm putting up kwila slats running horizontally.

I have 2 questions. 1. What screws should I buy for external / outdoor conditions, seeing as they do not make galv screws? 2. What finish have people used out there? Sikkens etc?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

yep, you can get gal screws, also buildex make a climacoat range which is supposed to be better than gal, and you can get ss ones (over $100/1000 versus buildex, $50/1000). Fasteners suppliers are best fopr range and price.\

Finish - 2 paks and urethanes last longest, but look the crappiest when they are finished with (ie 5 or 6 years down the track, sanding it going to be a buggar). Personally I'd go oil, and to save you time in the long run, get a spray gun, so you can oil them in an hour or so once a year (I'd think twice though if it was a 50metre fence!)

    Great, thanks for that.

I'll look into the climacoat range of screws.
