Wanted Agent in Brisbane to Sell my Timber.
I own a farm where I grow trees for timber and am looking for an agent to sell my timber, mostly rainforest species such as Red Cedar, Qld Maple, Hoop Pine, Silver Ash, Camphor Laurel, and other species. There would also be some hardwood mostly Gympie Messmate and Flooded Gum including slabs.
This would only be a small concern that could be run from under a house or in a suburban shed. I'd be aiming at something like 10 cubic metres per year. This would be supplied in the form of sawn boards since I own a small sawmill. Obviously the agent would need to have some knowledge of timber and what would be a fair price for the wood depending on species, dimensions and quality. Owning a bench saw and a thicknesser would be an advantage.
I'm located near Gympie, just north of the Sunshine Coast. Most of the timber comes from trees that I have planted over the years. Contact me, preferably by email for more information. Thanks, Bob

I visited Bob a few years back.
He’s one of nature’s true gentlemen.
I sure he knows each and every tree on his lovely property, when he planted it, any bugs or other dramas through the years it faced.
If I was in Brisbane I’d be interested.
Bob, is the timber kiln dried at all and if not how long ago was it cut?
I guess anyone looking at this would need a truck and maybe a forklift plus racking etc.
Good luck and please keep the forum informed if this gets off the ground.
I get up to Brizzy at least once a year in the ute so could go timber shopping while the wife visits her relatives.

Hi Bob,
You could try Korora Timber Specialists at Moggill. Run by one fellow, Ken. I've done business with him recently and he's great to deal with.

H.
Thanks for the positive comments!! Yes, I'm familiar with plenty of my trees. The wood is all air dried, some of it for too many years. I have forks on my tractor for loading and transportation could be arranged depending on circumstances. Yes ,if you are up this way, you would be most welcome to call in.
Thanks for the suggestion to contact the agent mentioned. We will see what happens. Bob
