Best place to buy cabinet drawers
Hi. I am building a house and currently am making melamine cabinets and need to buy drawers for them.
Probably the best approach is to buy the style where the manufacturer provides metal sides with inbuilt slides and clips for the front, and you provide the base, back and fancy front. I think they used to be called metabox or innobox or similar.
I used these in past projects and while not flash they were very robust while being quick to make.
I’m having difficulty finding a good supplier. I used to buy from Nover but they seem to have reoriented their approach to the market and if you are not an account holding business customer then the price is savage.
Is there a market sector I am missing? Has anyone bought these recently and from where?
I need to get this right as the house is a large one and with my Wife’s preference for drawers not cupboards (because we are getting old, apparently) I will be up for 60 to 80 drawers in total.
Cheers

Blum is probably the brand you are looking for. Wilson & Bradley is one company that have Blum draws. I am sure there are plenty of others.
Suggest checking the Blum Australia web site. Blum have computer program you can use to design draws & create a parts list. Had a play with the program a couple of years ago but have not used it for a real project.

Always Blum.
Lincoln Sentry is another supplier, but I think they actually sell some stuff at Bunnings too

Nover
Hafele
Lincoln Sentry
Wilson and Bradley
It seems these are the only suppliers to the kitchen industry ?? Curious.
I was really just wondering if there was a market segment I was missing. I guess not.Apologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.

Hettich is another big one. Sugatsune also have some very interesting door solutions, but I'm not sure how big their share of the market is.

Ended up buying from Hafele.
They seemed to have the best range, best prices and most helpful staff. It all comes from Melbourne - so it was just an over the phone order for the first 30 drawer kits - then 2-3 business day courier delivery for $18.00 per order.
Unfortunately, they wouldn’t set up a ‘trade’ account for an owner-builder - which is the first time I’ve had someone refuse. I didn’t want the terms, just the trade discount of 20%. So I had to pay retail, although it wasn’t too bad.Apologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.
