    Default Installing undermount sink

We have just had our new kitchen installed...Caesarstone benchtop went in last week. We now need to install the undermount sink...

We have been advised that silicon will bond and seal the sink no problems. So we put silicon along the top edge of the sink and press it up against the underside of the benchtop.

The instructions also say to use a 'high strength epoxy compound' as well...can anyone explain what a high strength epoxy compound is and specifically, what brands would be the best to use?

    Thanks.

benchtop already in is a little less than ideal. The silicon can hold it by itself after curing, but you will have to provide some clamping - usually its installed by the benchtop company, who install upside down with a bag of cement on the sink - if you cant get clamps in, then a jack of some sort providing upward pressure on the sink to push it against the ceaserstone.

As to epoxy, what these do is give you a time advanatge, ie a 2 part will set in 30 minutes and set hard in 24 hrs. Not really any different to araldite but just in bigger packaging.

The company ioi got my benchtop from offered to give me a little 2 part for the job, but I already had some 2 part concresive (a concret crack repair 2 part). Any decent building sup[ply can help with a 2 part epoxy.
