    Default removing jarrah floor boards

    Hi all,

I have an old house we are demolishing and building a new one on the block and I am wondering how I can remove the jarrah floor boards that are through out the house.

I really want to use them in the next house we are building but I have no idea on how to pull them up if anyone has any idea's it would be very much appreciated!!!!

Also anyone who lives in perth and removes floor boards for living i was wondering what the going rate was to remove them?? (just curious??)

    cheers lads

Try these guys for a price, I have bought floorboards off them for an extension in my last place.

I have never lifted floorboards myself but know it is not easy to do it without splitting the tongue and groove. Also they pull the nails through from the back of the board not the top, this way you do not get tear out through your face surface.

Hi ... I have done some and it isn't easy. The best way I found without any special tools was to punch some nails through at one end of the board and then start to gently level the board up with the other nails in it.

It is quite hard not to split them, especially with timbers like Jarrah that are less flexible.

The floor guy's may have soem better ideas later.

you can hire board lifters that pivot off the top of the joist and have a finger that goes under the board either side of the joist... try kennards or similar...

bowrench also have an adaptor i think for this purpose
