Construcion of a pitched roof
Gidday everyone
I have a very old Edwardian home with 3.3mtr ceiling's and pitched roof (ie; colorbond) in the original part of the home with 2.7mtr ceiling heights and a flat roof in a brick extension at the back of the home.
My wife and I want to make the back look consistent with the front and considered raising the entire ceiling height and building a pitched roof out the back. We were quoted about 65K which is way to expense for us.
So I am looking at another option which was to remove the flat roof and to build a pitched roof with a catherdral ceiling. The total area of the back extension is 9 * 8 mtrs and consists of a bathroom, laudry and a kitchen/dining room.
If I was to do this would there be a significant reduction in cost as opposed to raising the entire celing height in the back extension.
Has anyone got any advice or has done something similiar.
As we really want to give the back area the feeling of height without having to spend to much money.
