    Default Notifications of new posts....

    Hi there Admin,

I know there is a 'subscribe' function that gives you daily or weekly notification of new messages in a forum, but I am wondering if there is any way to set it up so you receive a message everytime a new message is posted in a particular area, ie Videos? Obviously it would be a bit intense to have it with some of the popular areas, but in the less busy areas of the forum this might be handy feature. Can it be done or only the daily email??

    Thanks

In the dropdown box on the notification schedule you can set it to 4 different notifications

    1 No email notification
    2 Instant notification by email
    3 Daily updates by email
    4 Weekly updates by email
    Cheers

    Thanks for that.

I just had a look, and yes, subscribing to a particular 'thread' gives the option of 'instant', however subscribing to a 'forum', ie 'Woodturning General' only gives the option of No notification, Daily or Weekly, but not instant. ie, wanting to get notification as soon as someone posts a new thread in the forum area.....

    Thanks again
    Martin
