    Question Grass Killer

Im building a Cubby House and I have an area of 2.6m x 2.6m where want to kill ALL grass, weeds etc.

    What can I use?

I also have a tree stump Ive hacked at to get to ground level. What can I use to kill this tree?

    Thanks.

Glyphosate will kill just about everything.
Commonly called "Roundup" but don't actually buy the "Roundup" brand. There are other brands that have exactly the same concentration of glyphosate in them and are half the price!

It will kill weeds, grass and even small trees. Takes about 5-6 days before they all shrivel up. Just be sure to check the weather before you spray. need at least 3-4 dry days so the grass/weeds can soak it up good and proper.

Glyphosate 360g/l will do the job. 6 hours is plenty for it to be absorbed.

If the tree stump is green drill some holes in it and pour in glyphosate mixed with water about 1 to 4 parts water

There is a product called "Ax-It", designed for killing tree stumps. Works like a charm. It involves drilling holes in the stump and pouring it in, and mixing with kerosene and spraying any sprouting leaves.

BTW: I bought a bottle of concentrated glyphosate about 10 years ago, that I mix at 50ml per 5 l, and it works brilliantly, and the bottle is still about 1/4 full. I use it regularly to control the spreak of a kikuyu lawn, as well as weeds, etc.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

    I think you already have

I can lend you my dogs - they destroy grass, and pretty much anything else living in their vicinity..... they will leave quite a hole too, but I guess that would actually be good for foundations

Jeez Stuey I hope (for your neighbourrs sake) that the holes they leave are "quiet ones" ... we had a dong once that fair dinkum used to sound like a chainsaw when he dug... it had to do with the amount of growling and eching from the depths of the hole...

    Marsy,
You might try mowing the Grass/Lawn just before you apply the Poison.
I apply mine [ Individual Plants ] with a used Syringe
sometimes a Spray bottle; but one has to mind the overspray

Cheepest way out is diesel in a watering can , goes into the soil and kills the lot. Smells bad for a week but guarantee the results for 10 years , like U-Beaut products it works

Haven't tried a tree stump but it works for grass and weeds , just beware wherever you put it nothing will grow for years, and don't skimp realy wet the ground and then allow to sink in

Some tree poisons reccomend that you mix diesel with the poison as it assist in ut being asorbed. Pretty sure this was what I was told.
    Dave,
hug the tree before you start the chainsaw.

Yep, diesel and tordon or starane will kill pretty much anything including bamboo.
