I should be there if I survive the next half hour of trying to take deep cuts in steel on the metal lathe. Yesterday I sent about half a kg of steel round bar flying around the workshop and almost needed clean pants.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Tonight I was talking about an assembly/infeed/outfeed table that I want to build.

Here's the link. The ULTIMATE Workbench

I have been looking at the microjig Matchfit system for a while and I think the time might be right.

The plan calls for a sit/stand desk mechanism to support the table and I found this electric one that looks like it will do the job with a 100kg lift capability so I bought it. Electric Standing Desk Height Adjustable Sit Stand Up Motorised Frame Only Black | eBay

Should keep me out of trouble for a few hours.

I am hoping to be there.

I am having a big resawing day today so my back is likely to be bloody sore by the time the meeting is on. At least the boards are getting smaller each time they go through the bandsaw.

If my back survives the day I should be in for a chat.

Pagie and I had a meeting of two.

Very pleasant chat. Chainsaws were mentioned in passing.

Lovely little chat with two of the regulars tonight.

A book I’ve been prattling on about, that myself and Paige were trying to convince Doug to read.
May suit a few hear who enjoy reading about the history of Engineering or more precisely the development of precision.

    Cheers Matt.

Haven't read the book but did hear S Winchester on an episode of ABC Conversations with Richard Fidler (Sep 2019). Can still be heard via the net.
I found it both interesting and amusing, and learned that one of the most important people in the development of modern engineering was called Iron Mad Wilkinson. It's sad that we don't have people with names like that anymore, it has such a mad scientist feel to it.

I wasn't going to be able to log in for the chat, but seeing as how our visitors are now locked down in Brissy, I am left twiddling my thumbs so hope to catch up with faces new and old: That is new and old to the thread and proof of age is not a condition of entry .

For those of you who are not techno minded and require the link, this is the one I found back on page 6 post #87 (in case my link does not work.

I might make the first 20-30 minutes.

    I have a doctors appointment.

Need to get the results of an x-ray and ultrasound on my shoulder.

I had the x-ray and ultrasound on Monday and this is the earliest appointment I could get.

Things are almost back to normal by now so should be no major worries but we might finally find out why it keeps going out.
