Further to my post above, I tried changing the style to vB default as has been suggested by some users earlier in this thread, but that made no difference at all.

Hello Grant
I'm away at the moment with limited internet access.
However I have reported this again to Steven. Something's going on that shouldn't be. Few glitches have been cropping up or reoccurring in the last couple of weeks.
The ads although a pain in the but, are what keeps the forums up and running. Without the few that we let on normally the forums probably wouldn't still exist.
Hang in there and hopefully all will be fine again in the not too distant future.
BTW what is supposed to happen for members with between 60 and 100 posts? - your list above doesn’t cover this. And if number of posts is the measure by which we are punished/rewarded with spam advertising, you are inviting a whole bunch of nonsense posts simply to get the post number up. Don’t wish to be negative, but this doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.....
By the way posted rubbish is usually deleted as fast or faster than it's posted because some of our dedicated members report it and moderators deal with it in a timely manner.

Thanks Neil,
I appreciate you/Steven continuing to chase this down. It’s not the one add that bothers me - it’s the six or more giant banners per page, most of them in the middle of someone else’s post, that really irritate me. I’ve read through all of the earlier discussion on this thread and understand your reasoning for keeping some ads. While I personally would prefer to pay/donate and not have the adds, I accept that this is your call and yours alone.
I wasn’t trying to be a smart$%se about nonsense posts - it just struck me that if post count was the only way to get rid of the annoying ads (not the “one ad”) then it might well encourage people to just post for the sake of it to get the post count up. I’ve seen it happen on other forums for a slightly different reason. I’m not an expert in woodworking, so tend to read more than post unless I think I’ve got something meaningful to add or a question to ask of the more knowledgeable folk here. I’d like to keep it that way.

Hi Neil
Same for me. I'm using the latest version of Chrome. Not complaining, just letting you know, and posting an example of what I see...

ALL FIXED
After a lot of tracking down Both Steven and I found the problem on Friday at different times. Steven through careful and diligent research whilst I stumbled upon it unwittingly a couple of hours before hand.
I disabled all advertising on the forums for a number of days and still the adds kept on happening. Thought we may have been hacked, but....
Back in October I inadvertently clicked on a "Fix Now" link in Google Adwords Control Panel which appeared to do nothing. But unknown to either of us it had enabled a new form of crazy unrestricted advertising.
Seems to have have been unleashed on many unsuspecting sites around the world.
I disabled it and all has now returned to normal.
I am currently rolling out a new batch of ads for unregistered and non contributing members in the hope that we get a bit more income to help pay for the continued running and upkeep of the forums.

anyways glad you fixed it...keep the fix in back of your head for when you next click on something you shouldnt...i try to after I have done something but I forget...lol
