I didn't know kenmil got kicked. I haven't seen any posts which would warrant that sort of reaction.

    Correct.

He asked that all his posts be deleted. This was not done as it throws the continuity of answers right out of whack. You only have to see what effect that Stoppers had when his posts were deleted.

If a thread is started by a member the whole thread is deleted and a lot of valuable info is lost.

You only have to remember what effect Stoppers posts had when he was around.

(For those who joined after he left, lets just say he was one of a kind - and I mean that in the nicest possible way, honest )

I stand corrected. I coulda sworn I saw the word banned somewhere though

    Wild Dingo,

You may be right. But I can't see what motivation anyone would have for posing as Noora. On the other hand, I would thought she could have found more exciting people than us to chat with if she went onto a chat channel. But maybe she is not familiar with IRC.

    Default Welcome ..........and Goodbye.

    Noora,

When you first introduced yourself I was happy that a young female from an Arab country, with a woodworking interest, wanted to join and participate in this woodworking community.

But as further posts elicited more information my interest changed from being happy to being intrigued to plainly being bored with these posts.

I am not interested in a debate on whether you are an Omani or a Saudi, or if you drive or not, or if you study during holidays, or if women who dance are immoral ( my wife dances and she is definitely not immoral    ) or hearing songs or reading poems. My interest in this board is primarily regarding woodworking and not having chats with immature adolescents regarding poems and songs.

BTW the freedom of Arab women is not even close to what our women have.

So whilst I welcome you to this board until you wish to discuss woodworking I will ignore future posts and so say goodbye.

Peter. ( who is to busy building a woodshed to have time for silly prattle.)

Rocker - Kenmill spat the dummy as did Doorstop. However, in Kenmills case we at least had control over the state of disrepair his dummy spit would leave the forums in.

As said, deleting posts from a long time contributor can completely stuff up a whole heap of threads. We weren't about ho have that happen again so we chose one of the two options open to us.

There are two ways to keep threads of a member who has (for want of a better word) resigned. One is to have their posts show as those of a guest. However there's no way Kenmill will be welcome as a guest by any of the administrators or moderators of these forums so I chose the alternative and labelled him as banned.

Funny isn't it, the two people that both and myself have saved from serious law suits both spat the dummy over something trivial.

    Neil

PS if you want to see Kenmils reason for leaving (dummy spit) do a search for "farewell", you won't find the offensive stuff that was deleted but then again you won't find any of the really offensive stuff as it is deleted before many people get a chance to see it and be offended. Goodonya .

PPS If you want to see Doorstop's reason of the dummy spit......... bad luck nothing of his remains, he eradicated himself completely, except for a few alter ego's

    Hello Noora,

Im not quite sure how I have offended you but apologies are offered if I have.

What I was trying to say was that you are a lucky person if you have time during your university holidays to spend time doing things apart from university work. When I was at university we had "holidays" but for me it was a time to cram for examinations and work on field projects. I also had to work at a job to get money to help pay for my studies.

    So no disrespect was intended.

These forums are great fun but you have to keep in mind that you're communicating using only one medium..the written word. Its not quite the same as talking face to face with a person....its especially the case when youre dealing with Australians and New Zealanders and our sometimes "öff beat" sense of humour.

Anyway I hope you wont let my comments scare you off....

    Noora.

    A question.

I travel in my work and drive from where I live in Albany to a town almost 500 ks east called Esperance. If you have a map of Western Australia you will find both places on the south coast of the State. The trip is through farm country and some National Park areas.

Along the way I pass a large farm that is stocked with strange looking sheep. I am told they are "Arab" sheep. They have dirty grey/brown wool or hair that looks more like that of a goat than of the sheep that are normally farmed here, and they have fat tails.

Someone told me they are Awassi sheep but I don't know if that is right. I thought that Awassi sheep were a milking sheep, while these sheep seem to be bred and raised for their meat.

Can you tell me what they might be? I don't know if your part of the Arabic world has native, or domestic, sheep.

It only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

You sound like a very busy person.

Interesting that you work for an arabic newspaper. Do you have access to newspapers from Australia and other parts of the world?

A question I guess some of us in this forum would like to know is what is your impression of Australia?
