It's raining heavily here now but, against my better judgement, I'll get going. Normally about a 2hr. drive but with the wet roads maybe a bit longer.
    See you all there soon.

I certainly had a good time. It was great to meet and put faces to some of the names I see on here so often. By the way, that plum and hazelnut cake was just the bee's knees. Pity that the vic's don't have such luxurious desserts!!!!!!!

Thanks to Guy and Lisa for opening their home.

    Cheers

Thanks Guy for a great get together As usual good food and great company.

Sorry no photos from me either, I was too busy turning

Now that you mention it, can't find my camera anywhere. Hey Guy, did you find a silver pocket camera around the saw

I turned 4 pens and attempted a trinket finial box, similar to the one Cindy Drozda makes, but ran out of time and sharp chisels . I'll finish it next weekend and post some pics, assuming I find my camera

Ah found the camera, it was rapped in a rag to keep it clean

Anyway, here are the cast Paua shell pens I turned. I also did a SS pen cast in yellow tinted resin that John cast. He should post a photo

I add my thanks to all the above hehe, I think I sampled too many of the good things on offer though .
Here's a pic of the stainless Neil turned , we wanted to try a new source of translucent coloring ,so I cast this one yesterday and Neil did his usual pen magic with it today as a demo for the assembled good folks I think this one will live with some of my selected "Demo" pens hehe, Cheers ~ John

Sierra Vista ,stainless braid with yellow tinted clear cast acrylic ,(I am not sure of the technical name for this stuff ) Just some quick flash shots nothing fancy

G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Thanks Guy & Lisa for generously hosting a great GTG. And glad to catch up with fellow Forumites, including a few I hadn't previously met. Great day altogether.
Got lots of photos on my camera, but staying at my daughter's tonight. Will post photos when I get home tomorrow.
Wendy (Ruffly Rustic) also has lots of photos, but a long trip home for her. Just be patient, please folks.

And a special message for Calm:

To quote Enfield Guy verbatim about the Plum & Hazelnut cake: "Too good for Victorians".
