Mate, one of the immutable rules of beauracracy is the that there will be a lot more of everything than you thought----time, money, materials, forms, headaches.

You know with all the drafting talent on this forum I am surprised no-one could draw some simple plans up for young FC.

The reason there was alot more timber is because the designer drew up a bomb shelter instead of my shed. Everything is oversize, I'm going back tomorrow to sort it out.

My first estimate (an educated one of course) was about $8500 for the timber, the new price is $13151, with steel posts instead of timber.

They're good plans, the member sizing is just overkill

Your lucky to get timber sizes on a plan, usually its " timber frame to AS 1684" ( which you can still go to & disregard any sizes indicated ) why it has steel posts is a mystery ( unless you have a lot of wide openings with little or no wall areas between )
