Yes, it’s great that such a reasonably priced consumer item actually works so well. I can’t see me ever going back to a belt drive unit.

Just wondering if $399 is the best price to pick one of these up at the moment? Cheers

They do seem to routinely come on special around the $275-$300 mark, so if you're not in a hurry just check periodically.
If you haven't signed up before, you could also sign up for a trial with Amazon Prime if they offer the free shipping. Saves an extra $15 or so (quit after it's delivered).
cheers, Ian

WOW, that is a bargain price compared to what I paid. I'm glad that I have had good use out of mine in the intervening years or I might feel cheated. I'm still happy with mine.

Just a heads up to anyone wanting a Bosch Bench Drill PBD 40. It is on sale now (Amazon Prime sale) for $319. You have to be an Amazon Prime member to get the sale price. You can sign up for a 1 month free trial though to qualify. I just bought one.
Cheers
Lyndon

For those interested in the this drill, it's slightly cheaper from Amazon UK at $305. You still buy it via AmazonOz, you just have to search for it......or you could just click on this link.
And BTW, it looks like the sale ends in 13 hours and counting.

Hi jimbo16,
Where did you get your handle? The link KahoyKutter didn't actually show a handle but rather all the drill accessories and the part number wasn't correct.
Do you like the handle you installed?

The link used to point to the actual part but it looks like that particular handwheel has been superseded by this one. It looks very similar but the part # is now DT998.

Yeah love it. It is the replacement feed hub + handle for the chinese made Z512 bench drill.
eg

Just need an M6x20mm grub screw and a bit of tubing to shim from 19mm (3/4") to 22mm (7/8"). I used a bit of 19mm irrigation tubing from Bunnings.
Holman 19mm x 1m Poly Pipe | Bunnings Warehouse
Works really well. Very secure.
Or this might work as a shim

Just needs to be 22mm OD and 19mm ID with wall thickness of 1.5mm or there-abouts.

Oh. Ok. I had seen that handle but I wasn't sure as the number was one different. I thought it looked similar. Thanks KahoyKutter.
Are you still happy with the handle an year later?
