Yes agreed.
At the time, Timbecon had been out of stock of many of the Luban / Narex tools and couldn't even give an estimate as to when stock would even arrive. Timbecon squarely blamed wood river in the USA indicating WR have a contract with Luban to produce their planes for FIRST, before filling any other orders/suppliers! Hence, I went with Fine Tools. My previous dealings with them had been good.
Lesson learned..... Lie Nielsen ONLY from now on..... (J/k)

Col, the two may go with one another ... in some instances, but this is not the issue here. The issue is not the poor quality of the product; the issue is that either the product did not arrive, or that the wrong product did .... and this is not altogether the main problem. The main problem is the absence of any communication or effort to correct the orders.

I just received an order for some chisels from this company. Best price I could find on the net and arrived when stated. Although it was only one order, and my first I have to rate them highly. Good communication and tracking number sent next day.

I have placed 3 orders in the last month now. Before I places my first order requests for further info were quickly answered. My first order was posted quickly and then down hill from there.
My second order still had not been processed after 1 week which somewhat worked to my advantage as I was able to combine postage for my third order. A week later all of the third and half of the first order was shipped. Almost 3 weeks later and a handful of emails from me I am getting radio silence on where the missing parts are in the process.
I believe I have now located a phone number for Jason so will see if I can get a phone update later today

Damien, I am curious whether you read this thread before placing an order with Fine Tool Australia ???
(.... incidentally, the abbreviation here is FTA ... aka known as "fail to attend").

I recently ordered a Luban spokes shave from them. I wanted the model with the radius sole to use inside curves. It was noted in the catalogue that they were due in at the end of June however the suggestion was to place an order as they would soon sell out. I received an order confirmation with full description and my credit card was debited immediately. A few days later I got an email from AusPost that the parcel was on it's way which surprised me. On arrival it turned out to be a standard flat sole Luban. I already have one of these, bought from Timbecon, (along with half a dozen other assorted flat sole spokes shaves) and I find it quite good. I immediately emailed back, no answer, several more emails ignored, phoned using different phones, no answer. Uncertain what to do however if there is no response soon I will look into my rights.

Unfortunately Jason is a bit hard to get hold of, if ever. I was lucky in that he did finally respond to emails but it was months and months later. I agree with above, get hold of the credit card provider and go from there.
