This is brilliant! There are so many new ones here I've never heard before. I think we could write a very interesting book if we all added a story to our favourite saying/s.
Another maxim, or ideal:
face your fears, they are never as big or as scary then
take responsibility for your own actions
Any my most favourite would have to be Rudyard Kipling's poem - If.
