My ipad is full and no internet conection for a pc that i never use anyway so down to my phone.

Day 1 is done. Here's some of my photos.
Trevor's (Repliconics) Indian motorbike was eagerly anticipated; absolutely stunning. Dave's niece and my daughter give some indication of scale.
The other Craig in attendance (Springwater) began creating Ned Kelly's helmet. He started with a hand saw and then someone thought they saw an old chainsaw in Dave's useful box and Gordon from the motel down the road drove back to get his too (it helps when chainsaws have petrol in them and the chains on the right way around guys!) An Arbortech was then used. I then saw a hatchet whacking away.
Trevor then attempted turning some timber for the first time. As Dave said above, we're turning him to the dark side, muahaha.
Dave's son Tom was inspired by the bike and made a model of his own.
Forum members and non-members alike enjoyed the lunch and bbq dinner. Crowie and rwbuild were stuck on the road still and had to be assisted by NRMA and then Dave and Trevor drove out to meet them.
A most enjoyable day. I intended to be there for 4 hours, which quickly became 8.

Looks like another great time to be had
Not sure about using the chainsaw like that though
. I assume that strap holding the log isn't metal, but the bar is also too short so you are asking for kickback as you bury the bar 
, then there is cutting down onto a steel surface

Springwater didn't put the nose(?) of the bar into the log; he only cut it up on the diagonal as shown in the photo. The band clamp held but I know what you mean. The cut didn't go much further than what you see in the photo so the chainsaw wasn't going near the bed ways. Originally Posted by dai sensei

Well yesterday we removed a a large centre section .... yes I was on the saw. I am sure I broke many a rule. Did 4 plunge cuts. As I had not touched a chain saw since 92 and have never had anyone show me how to use one I was pleased. No pics as yet cause I could not take a selfie and and cut at once ... still working on getting more pics up.
It has been an awesome time. Sitting up with springwater and reploconics now and having a coffee ... 2nd for me, 4 the for craig I believe but whose counting.
Uncle Al has gone down the street camera in hand.

Yes they made it, they are leaving in the morning. Today RWBuild turned up a candle stick holder and crowie supervised.
There were a few fireworks tonight. No seriously, fire works! For our guests that stayed the night we thought we'd put on a show. A real show! About 5 or 10 minutes of fore works.
