Well do you know that women and cats don't have warm blooded legs?[/quote]
Thats cold feet, not legs. and you don't get to know that until you get to share their bed and they try to warm their feet on you legs. And that wont happen if you meet these girls on a bus unless you offer to carry their bags for them. And they are bloody heavy bags. And then you might get the cold shoulder too. So any way, if some guy is trying his luck on the bus 'cause their are all these girls to chose from, and he's really strong so he's carrying all the bags, does his legs count too?

Oh! What was that bang on the roof. Bit early for Santa isn't it?
Hey! there's some guy in a red suit wants to know what to do with these forty nine back packs he found on the bus. They're all kind o' squirming around with yowling sounds emanating.. Oh no. All the cats have escaped, they're attacking the reindeer. Oh no its like they haven't eaten for days. Oh the humanity (umm, reindeerity?) What is Santa going to do now? How will he deliver all the presents? They've eaten seven of his reindeer. Only Rudolf is left. Can he pull the sleigh all by himself? Oh !oh! Its amazing! There they go. Yay for Rudolf he does it again. He really must have been working out.
Umm Santa? You've left all these back packs! And all these cats. My local council doesn't allow for this many cats! How will I feed them all? Oh! And you forgot to give me my present.
Hey. Now I can count the cats.

rats, dogs, cats even horses.. it dona madder...number of legs will be the same. THe bus would need to be a tad bigger if they was 'orses. 'n the wimmen would need to be amazons. THis thread has been successfully hijacked. SO here's a little joke to finish on.

    little boy's letter to Santa:

"Dear Santa, please send us a new baby."

    Santa's letter in response.

    "Send me your mother".

Sheddy can't count or add up

once you take account of all the people who are missing one or more legs or arms (through amputation), the average lassie has less than two legs (I'm not sure about the average moggie) so there can't be 10990 legs IN the bus

on average it'll be a number like 10989

Now listen Ian. We's already done discussed the matter of full quotion of legs per organic bus traveler. And apparently they's all started with proper amount. And any that were eaten by any member of our traveling retinue after the actual boarding of the said bus are still counted even in digestive track or resulting ...... um.....fecal matter?....um.....
So I don't think you have a leg to stand on.
Any way I is still counting these here cats. Can I change my vote?

Shouldn't we count St Nick's - and his reindeer's - legs as well, now that they're aboard?

Does he have to buy two tickets? He'd take up two seats after all. And what about his reindeer? Do they need tickets? Shouldn't they need two or three each too? Hmmm... what about all these cats then? If they bought a ticket each, then aren't they entitled to a seat each instead of being crammed into back-packs? If they didn't need to buy tickets, aren't the reindeer entitled to bring the bus company to litigation over discrimination?

Blow this, this bus is beginning to get too crowded. Bugger the number of legs, where's the breathing space? Help! Help! I can't breathe!! DRIVER! Let me off here...

Tomorrow I'm gonna catch the train instead...

Yeah... it's the fault of all these blasted bus drivers throwing dead cats off their buses as they pass through.

But that can't be the answer. Just straight old maths? You mean there's no trick? How boring. I think we were entitled to hijack if the answer was so normal. We saved the thread. You should thank us.

Well! I certainly ain't no nobody. And somebody's got to have an imagination around here.
I and my 343 cats and 2401 kittens that Santa gave me for Christmas (That's 10976 legs 'cause the girls wouldn't come with Santa. They listen to their mothers when they said not to go with strange men.) wish you a happy Christmas and new year and stuff. Please find a better puzzle for us next time. (Funnier at least.)

oops nearly didn't use an ikon. Thats better.
