Steve, I'm not particularly interested in opening a hotmail or gmail account, nor should I have to. I've been on the forum for 6 1/2 years and have been getting notifications without having to resort to changing email accounts. Lets hope the techie gurus can get it sorted before too long.

Things went astray 8th - Sunday evening - by my reckoning. That's the last time I rec'd a forum email on Bigpond.
Restarting a mail server or mail service is only going to work if nothing else changes or if there's no underlying issue. *Needing* to restart is almost always symptomatic of bigger things. And another problem with 3rd party hosted services - you don't have full control. Sometimes you need to hit the big red button to restart *everything*. Hosting companies don't let you do that. But I can only guess on the server/service arrangements.
It would be nice to get a bit more acknowledgement of the circumstances though....

I found that in the meantime, I can have Hotmail forward the notifications to my normal email address, so now I get the loud audio notification from the PC as well, just like normal.
All is good.... Steve

Notifications are being sent, and received all over the world by all mail servers with the possible exception of some Bigpuddle users. If not, those with other addresses wouldn't be getting them.
Will have a look into Bigpond email and see if they may have changed their security settings or something else but doubt that will be the problem or there'd most likely be thousands of posts in this thread instead of just a handful of members with a problem.
I get between 200 & 400 returned emails a day and have done for many years. These are nearly all from members who have their security settings set too high or changed their email address. But mostly security settings either by them or their server not letting automated emails through or treating them as spam.
I have just been through the 273 returned emails from last night and only two were from Bigpond neither of those was for anyone in this thread. Which suggests there may be another problem.
In the last week have any of you installed a new security program, updated your security settings, had automatic updates to windows or something else that may have affected mail or security settings?
All of these may be or contribute the problem.
In the mean time I'll check out all I can and get Steven to see if there is something else that may be causing this.
Cheers - Neil

I receive all my emails to either my iPhone or iPad and both are still receiving Bigpond emails from other places but none from WWF.
Have not made any changes anywhere or updates on computer as it hasn't been turned on for about 2 weeks. Only noticed last night that I wasn't getting email notifications for my DJ's Timber acc when I did tests with Grumpy John. Got an email notification for Acco on my Gmail but none for DJ's Timber Bigpond email for your post reply.Cheers

Neil, thanks for the reply, I realise that this is probably limited to a few users, because, as you said you'd be flooded with posts. AFAIK there have no changes to any of my security settings and I haven't installed any new software.

Thanks for that DJ.
So, as I said the emails are working just not for bigpond users or at least some of them.
Curioser and curioser.
I had no problem getting notification of your reply but don't use bigpond email?

Wot acco and gj said. Almost. I read email on tablet and store long term on desktop - two very different devices. I read gmail exactly the same way. It's not a client issue despite what techs may have suggested and I find it had to believe a professional IT tech can't tell the symptoms don't match this "claim". (No offence meant here Neil.)
From what I can tell wwf/ubeaut emails are not getting to the bigpond servers or being rejected. Check out mxtoolbox and SORBS, follow the sequence of events on your servers and server logs.
Can you send an email directly to a bigpond email address bypassing the forum ?
Thanks very much for the update and efforts so far. They ARE appreciated. I know how distracting this type of issue can be from your perspective.

To clarify my post #4 above the address that I tried to email the thread to was a Bigpond address. I also tried to send it to myself, also a Bigpond address, three times but to no avail.
