Was perfect weather this year, a mild 34 by late arvo yesterday and only 27 or 28 today..
We only did the two days this year as sadly many did not make for a great variety of reasons. I will be working on some pics soon

Well not quite broiled, but a few of the photos I wanted to post aren't of share-able quality due to the poor positioning the sun chose for itself despite my repeated requests for it to position itself somewhere more convenient.
I ran a mallet-making workshop similar to the one I ran last year, with two children making mallets in the morning and two more after lunch. Actually one of the morning mallets was made by a dad assisted by his two sons working beside his daughter. The boys were thought to be a bit young to make a mallet by themselves, but spurred on by his experience in the morning one of the boys fronted up in the afternoon and did it by himself.
Here are two of the happy owners of redgum/tassie oak mallets they made on the weekend. Dave and Rachelle's daughter Sammie also made a mallet but her photos were too dark to post. Maybe Dave can arrange a photo of her with her mallet? These kids were aged 7 to 9. I usually run this activity for 11 and up but these kids stayed on task all through the job and are very proud of their efforts. They made splendid mallets.

This is young Jen
And then her dad helped her younger brother do another. The family was happy to take two and have a pic taken with the master
Thanks Doug. The mum's commented very positively on your teaching nature and style. A great time had by all in Camp Doug

Another very active part of the homeschoolers day was out in the cave. Here young and old had a turn at crafting their own mini baseball bats under the watchful eye of a bearded master
Adults taking such pride in their work they joined the kids at the paint stand to paint their work
Huge thanks to all who made the day possible and fun both forum members and non members alike

Glad you had another successful event Dave and the weather was kind this time. Sorry we couldn't make it this year but circumstances weren't right this time. Hopefully if you have another one next year we can be there.
Have you been Photoshopping some of those photos as it looks like green grass through the front fence in one. Oh sorry, that is the front fence must have been wishful thinking.
I hope some others have photos for us who missed out this time around.Dallas

I think your imagination has run riot Dallas, either the front fence has had some green paint on it quite a few years ago, or there is a bit of foliage from the Peppermint tree overhanging the fence and giving an illusion of grass.
Apparently there was green grass out the back, but without photos I suppose that could just be a rumor.
Grass, or the lack of it aside, looks like it was a successful weekend. The mallets look very professional, well done Doug for helping out.
Hopefully next year won't be as busy for me and I will be able to get down to lovely downtown Dooen.

Letting everyone know that I won't be doing the Australia Day GTG 2020.
Hopefully things will change later in the year and I'll be able to organise something then
Thanks
