    WOW & WOW Ray.... this is one awesome train you're building with all the lights, bells & whistles....love it.

    Now getting back to the mystery sproket in one of the earlier photos; I saw what looks like a drive gear on the centre axle of the trains main wheels and what might be considered a battery & motor box behind it.....Am I on the right track or heading for a cliff????

    If you are referring to THIS par it is for keeping all axis straight allowing very minimal movement side-wise so they can turn around as effortlessly as possible...does this answers your question crowie?
