Hi Chris,
Ive got to admit, I've never seen a Brades catalogue, and this as an international trade list would have been minimally printed. I think he lists only 21 representatives worldwide.
If you like, I would be happy to photograph the pages for you. Being a trade list, there aren't the involved descriptions you would expect in a catalogue. But it would give you some idea of the staggering range of tools they made, their different pattern numbers, the dimensions and weight, The file size would prohibit one big file but there are ways round this and I can figure it out.
By the way, may I say you make beautiful tools.

I know it's not Monday night , but I had some time today to finish off a mini gloat that arrived during the week.
I use my Stanley #5 a lot to clean up recycled boards, and I decided that I needed another jack plane so as to not interrupt the job with a sharpening session.
I purchased it from the Bay for $26.85 (it was misspelt as Millars Falls).
Seems to be a type 3 Millers Falls #14. I'm liking the 2 piece lever cap arrangement. It works very well.
I'm not going to bother with the japanning, but the finish on the handle and knob were perished, so I cleaned them up with a gel strip, being careful not to scratch the stained hardwood. Then finished with shellac/shellac oil/wax. They feel great now. A wash down with meths and fine steel wool, a sharpening session, and she's ready to go.
First 2 pics are before, second 2 pics after.

Close enough
I'd call that Millers Falls seriously gloat worthy.. and at $26.. Bargain!
You have to love miss spelled and miss placed goodies on ePay. there's a website somewhere (I can't be bothered looking it up) that will search for miss spelled item for you. you just type in "Stanley Plane" and it will search for everything thing from "Spanley Plain" to "Spanky Planes" and everything in between in one go.
Funny though.. as handy as it sounds I never think to use it
No show and tell for me.. April is full of Birthdays and Easter on top of them keeps me poor and within earshot
Roll on MayBest regards, Luban

Hi Vann,
The 2 piece lever cap is sort of hinged (actually riveted) in the middle. It puts pressure on the chipbreaker across the bottom as normal, at the top under the lever as normal, but also across the middle as well. It is apparently less prone to chatter.
Luban,
I think this is the site...

I've never thought to use it either. I might toy with it when I'm allowed to spend more money
Cheers,
Stu

A relatively lean weekend. Two nice sway back Diston's and another sheffield saw with the brand J Zack and Son - can't find any info on this one. They are all pretty old.
Also four strange looking japanese knife/scribers which I am going to use for marking.
$12 the lot.Last edited by DJ’s Timber; 11th May 2009 at 12:32 AM. Reason: Image removed as it exceeded forum's sizing requirement

Hi Wongdai,
Nice haul, those saws a real bargain at that price, I might be able to help with the J Zack and sons, take another look and see if it could be W.Tyzack & Sons or might be Tyzack & Sons Ltd. or Tyzack Sons and Turner.
Regards
Ray
Edit: Nick beat me to it, if it's Joseph Tyzack see here for more info http://www.wkfinetools.com/hUK/Tyzac...zack-index.asp
