Getting GF marshmallows is not a problem.
Big question is the roasting sticks.
Bring our own or are they to be the first item blacksmithed on the day ?

June 25 should be fine with me, unless her maj has her knee replacement and gets sent home in the fortnight before, but I accept that we don't know when it will happen (the knee job), or what will happen immediately after discharge, straight home or off to rehab for how long. Happy to fit in with everyone else, particularly the host if the domestic situation allows, or miss out if needs be. Thanks.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

I have a stall at waterside Blacksmithing festival and was supposed to be demonstrating but I won't be doing any now for the next 6weeks. Looks like I should still be approved for our get together

I went to the Blacksmith and metal art event at Footscray this morning. It is on tomorrow too.
I spent a bit of time with a gentleman who has set up a replica of an old viking forge and operating the bellows for him so that I could chat and find things out from him. It was an entertaining and informative time while he made a couple of nails and started making a knife blade.
They had a visiting blacksmith from the US demonstrating. Her name is Shawn Lovell and she did a demonstration for about an hour, starting out with a piece of steel rod with a flattened end which she split and made into a circle which she spent ages stretching out and smoothing. after all that time it turned out that she had made a bubble wand. After the final quenching she dipped it in soapy water and blew bubbles everywhere.
I could have made as effective a bubble wand in two minutes with a piece of coathanger wire, but this was a real work of art and she demonstrated some amazing skills to produce a bubble want the way she did.
Forum member Dale (Dsel74) - the host of the upcoming blacksmithing GTG was there with his display stand as well. It was good to catch up with you again Dale.
Here's some pictures, just to keep Crowie happy.

Dale said it is still a goer when I asked. He may be a bit busy to log on to the forum this weekend to confirm it himself with a show stall to run and a young family. SO rather than leave everyone hanging for confirmation, just letting everyone know what he told me.

Yep, Still 6wks away and I'm still planning on having the GTG. I may be doing a bit less than planned but that just means you guys may have to do some hammering.
