I knew I should've exercised my reddie power while it still meant something.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Sure they do - the person receiving them sees you valued their post enough to commend them on it. And you don't have to spread false ones around to be able to give out the occasional justified one. When you feel like giving someone a pat on the back (or a kick in the goolies), give em a greenie (or a reddie).

There is no point doing it for people with black (ie disabled) rep points - they have chosen not to participate, and won't see what you have given them anyway.

Studley, to me your greenie will still be as valuable as ever, a personal message saying well done. I was giving and receiving them for 6 months or more after i found out about them, before i discovered the order of merit. I always just thought they were harmless little messages

There is an order of merit?

There was a thing a while ago about the rep system and whether to keep it or not. I thought it was fine. On the Bulletin Board I host it actually shows your points.

The points system for me was a real attraction. It was so neat to see my moniker change too as I made more posts and it was really nice to get rep from people. Everyone likes a pat on the back. Personally I wouldn't have changed a thing. There are always people who moan about things and presure the admins to change things but I think the people that matter don't care that much.

Sorry to drag a thread that hasn't been touched for the past four weeks back into the 'New Posts' section (not really ), but was the answer to the $6,000,000 question ever revealed??

Let's just forget it and move on.

Think it might be - read between the lines and look at bylines.......
