Hi Josh,
I could walk next door, but this is quicker... that's pretty slick work, you realize of course 25 microinches! that's less than a micron variation across the part.. We would need a better surface plate to measure any much better..
BT, should be pretty happy with that!.
Regards
Ray

Wow!!
That is impressive!
I will add that it is typical Gardiner handiwork. Attention to detail at a rarefied level.
Thank you Josh.

The ring is now in the care of the Post Office. Cleaned and given wipe with some light way oil then wrapped up in closed cell foam, thick plastic, bubble wrap, stretch film, cardboard, two more layers of bubble wrap and another cardboard box and finally post bag. You can't be too careful with the post...
Enjoy
-Josh
Edit: Thanks for the kind words.

Cheers,
The circled area had some scratches in the 70 μm range. most i would say where in the sub 30μm area but I did not take too much notice on the first few passes, so it is only a guess.

Wait a minute Mr Po-os-ostman...
If you are willing to wait Bob, I can deliver it to PER next week along with that long-promised Norris plane.

GQ as Gladys Horton is not working.
The ring is oiled , bagged and on its way. I'm working close* to blind on the cap iron at the moment Gregory so if there is the possibility of you slipping the plane on the plane for me to have a close up, I will be further indebted.
BT
* Peter McBride very kindly wired me a drawing and photos of the space between the lever cap and cap iron on his Norris 51. Extremely helpful but being able to eyeball all the components and their fit would be fantastic.

Done. Tuesday brekkie, before I have brunch with Quentin. I do like to be well-fed before a gruelling half day at work.
