Hi Chris,
I never used the original fence but I did notice that when repositioning the fence would drag on the rear rail and then lock in position out of square. I am happy with the carbatec Besemeyer fence, my only gripe was that the stick on measuring tape was a mm or more out. This was easily fixed with a new steel rule riveted on.

Thanks, I think I'll be off shopping to Carbatec, Derwent Park this week.
I may as well set it up from the beginning.
It rankles that :
1. The replacement fence costing me more than the saw did when I bought her (very well used) off the Education Department .
2. Originally thought about the fence when it was nearer $300
