I would have sent you the link, but I’ve just paid a brief visit to the Peanut Gallery, and they’ve wisely decided to delete the offensive thread. I asked them to in both of my posts, but my request was ignored.
The owner of the site said that you have to have a ‘thick skin’ after he posted a list of top WWF posters and invited comment. After a member was named who’s known for posting lengthy threads, there was a chorus of ‘no not him’ and the site owner referred to him as a “waste of bandwidth”, without even a sarcastic smilie attached, as did others. The gossip (I called it a circle-j***) about WWF members continued for pages until it was interrupted by the member who’s known for his lengthy posts.
He (justifiably IMO) spat the venom of a thousand snakes, in one of the most articulate, well constructed, witty, and entertaining posts that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. I said as much in my posts, but they were all too busy having a good laugh at his expense.
HTFU was their policy.
The whole place looked to me like a clone of WWF, except that if you were a pen turner then you’d need a thick skin if you dared to sign up.
Perhaps I should have kept my mouth shut, but you can’t take back what’s been said in public, and it looms large in my memory. I don’t know how you’re behaving now, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you’re still discussing what’s going on here at WWF, and making comments about our members without them knowing. I couldn’t give a rats what you say about me, but you’ll probably be throwing some mud after reading this.
As I said in my posts, if you have to gossip about something then do it in private by PM. I trust that you’re still amusing each other, although I have different term for that sort of behaviour (as I’ve already mentioned).I suspect that old Cliffy may be a bit peeved with me for ignoring him once. You see he tried (unsuccessfully I thought) to defend his character after my attacks on him, and other members. I raised the bar, and I even broke the terms of agreement at the Peanut Farm.
Do you remember that Cliff?
You came back pleading your case but I’ve said nothing else there since. Of course you weren’t alone in attacking me. On the contrary it was the other way around and I was alone and being attacked. This very fact also provided evidence for my slander of your character.
I was also surprised at the behaviour of another prominent member, who was conceding to my points by PM, whilst at the same time defending his actions and going along with the pack in the thread.
If you’re still bearing a grudge against me Cliff, then I’d advise you to grow a thicker skin, or take me to court for your satisfaction, if you can find the post somewhere in the bowels of the Peanut Farm ...
You see, for all of us, once something has been said, it can’t be taken back.
In a public forum, it can be deleted, but history remains the same and you just have to live with the consequences, whatever they may be.

I dont know how this has turned into a us and them thread?
I was just commenting in the feedback forum, of all places, about how I perceive the forum has changed since I was here 3 months ago..
Im still confused as to where the, them and us, in this thread has come from?
Im not really, I just made that last bit up..
I had no intention of even mentioning the other forum at all in this thread, it didnt even enter my Peanut brain to do so.
I just wanted to know if is my perception of things, or if things had actually changed?
It is the feed back forum after all..

I've been away for a bit and have just returned to this thread. I wanted to delete the cross forum references/arguments as they do not apply to this topic (humour), nor are they likely to benefit anyone involved.
We (the admins and mods) do not want a them-and-us developing with any forums and have previously deleted the posts where it has occurred. Looking at this thread, deleting the references will be quite hard to do without losing the plot of the entire thread. I will also add that it would be quite hard to do without accusations of bias coming back again.
So, please stop the cross-forum discussion and keep it to the topic of
"Where did the humour go".

"No irony intended
pity you censored my previous post in this thread.
That's one of the things that's gone awry here, reasonable discussion is censored.
But keep your head in the sand and you lose the opportunity to improve things.
Of course while your head is stuck in the sand someone might come up and give you a boot in the posterior. Hope I see it when it happens
ps. I'll post a duplicate of this post on the feral forum so those who frequent both forums can see what I mean"
pity I hadn't kept a copy of the deleted post but I didn't think of that as that post wasn't rude or anything. it was only intended to promote open and honest discussion'

That's what I get for spending the afternoon in the workshop instead of catching up with this stuff.

so why is me agreeing with your action to keep the thread on topic ironical?

I was referring to the irony of MY statement, not yours - I thought you had picked up on it.
The irony was that in the original post Brickie referred to posts being deleted and spoiling the humour. I was trying to keep the thread on track by moderating it, which unfortunately sometimes involves deleting posts, to keep the thread ABOUT humour.
