Sorry Tom....... Not even a picture.....I will be happy to share any info that I find though.... I find it a real mystery why a company that had been around so long has no info though.... I have a copy of the 1924 catalogue but this saw must have been after that time. Thornley went out of business in 1995. Share some pics mate would love to see what yours looks like.

Hey Gaza
That is exactly my thoughts . I cannot work out why a company that has been around for so long has such little information about it. No catalogues, so material , no manuals i cant even find a decent picture.
I created another post about the machine i purchased but here are the pictures i have.
This table must of been parted out as the motor , planer and saw components are missing. Id love to find out more about the machine , what it looked like complete , what other machines they had ..etc

He Tom.... Found this add in Trove which I think is your machine. The same add seemed to be run in various papers and journals from 1953 to 1954

Not the greatest image but you can see it is the same combo as yours.

Looks like they had another machine similar to this that had a Planer and a compressor in one unit. I found some pictures of it but not actually seen the actual machine.

Hey Gazza , how awesome is that . Thank you . Reading the ad it states that the table came in a petrol engine version as well . That's pretty cool .
I'm missing way too many parts of mine to turn it into anything useful . Just need to keep. Look out for anyone selling one of these .

Coming together nicely....haven't had a chance to do anything on my Thornley of late...just gathering a few bits together for when I get the chance to get down and dirty with it.

Gaza
I found a similar thorley combo jointer/saw in a local junk store. I’m not sure if you are after one for your collection of machinery? If so let me know and I will see how much old mate wants for it. It is located in Newcastle but I could help arrange transport.
The photos don’t do it justice but it looks like it’s on an original stand and has its fences. Saw blade looks like an 8” with a 6 “ jointer.
Cheers stew

Thanks Stew... I might give it a miss..... I need to get the other machines finished before buying anything else... that's according to the one who must be obeyed ... a bit limited on space as well at the moment. My son in-law was chasing a table saw but i think he is after something a little more modern. Thanks for thinking of me though

Thanks mate I have spotted them..both are a little bit too expensive. The grinder is missing a lot of bits that would need to be manufactured...something that could be done but adds to the cost....I would love that jointer though... the cutter guard looks like a Wadkin though...
