Tom, I hope you will bring along a few of your jigs. I am interested to see them. In fact, it would be great if others brought along a few of the ones they are proud of as well.

    Cheers

I will make the effort to attend as I was the one that started the thread . What I will bring along is a small number of simple projects that I consider can only be achieved with the use of the template guides in the router. For those who are interested I inserted the router in the table mode many years ago. I have also been told by a Router Table specialist "That 90% of All routing processes can be achieved in the table mode" What I will bring along is a number of small projects for discussion. I certainly would be inserted on the opinion of others. I would be interested if any other who may have had success with the use of the guides.
As a woodworker for over 70years and teaching the basic woodworking skills for 30years before conducting my own cabinet making business. It was during this time I discovered I was wrong to leave my router in the table mode. I have used the router in the this mode for a number of processes that had to be completed in the table mode but certainly not for 90% of all routing processes.
I would be interested in any comments on what I will bring along for a" Show and tell"
Looking forward to the get together on the 10th

Tom, that is grand! I am not sure if we have met in person, and I look forward to this immensely.

Please feel free to bring along what you can. I am interested - actually in the process of building a new jig for routing mortices. Although many may think of me as a handtool woodworker, I am firmly in the blended camp. I have a few routers, mainly Elu, as well as a decent router table. They are at your disposal.

    Kind regards

Dave, I wish you could join us.

We shall have one interstate visitor. That is something to look forward to.

    .

Bob, I suggested earlier that we meet at around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday 10th March. I am open to other suggestions of time. I just thought that this would make it less rushed on the first day of the weekend, but leave a hour or so to chat and play in the workshop before firing up the barbie for lunch.

    Cheers

I'll definitely be interested another time if you have another one. Good excuse for a family holiday if circumstances permit.

Looking forward to the get together next Saturday where we can share with each other what we have experienced working with wood and various tools to introduce new projects that can be achieved. Mine is with the router, but I'm keen to see what others have to offer thou I am 84 I'm not too old to learn.

Just a note about Saturday: anyone who does not know my address, please PM. That is easier than sending out individual notices.

11:00 a.m. start for a play and chat in the workshop. Bring your jigs, something for show-and-tell if you wish, or just come for a chat. It's BYO (meat and drinks) for a barbie for lunch. I will supply salads and rolls.

Anyone else wishing to join, you are most welcome. Just PM.

    Best wishes

    Derek

    Sorry to hear this, Willy.

For others, just a heads up again about the GTG (at my home/workshop in Rossmoyne). PM me if you want to attend or need directions.

See all tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. or there abouts.

    Cheers

I’m still in for tomorrow, looking forward to it! Not sure I’ll be bringing anything, don’t really have anything of huge interest that I can think of right now.
