No need to eat humble pie Chris. All discussion is good discussion.
That large "aircraft carrier" came out of the Addington Railway Workshops. It's now owned by a private joiner working out of the Ferrymead Historical Park in Christchurch. It's not operational at present, but is being done up in spare time.
Here's a pretty picture (catalogue cuts thanks to Vintage Machine.org.).

And another useless fact: it cost £215 2s 7d (NZ£) back in 1928/29.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for joining the thread! And thanks for the compliment on my new bandsaw. I'm pretty happy with it so far.
Mate I'd like nothing more than to give this machine the work it really needs, and the tyres really do need re rubbering. They are servicable as they are but I can't fit the full width of blade (approx 2") due to chunks of rubber missing near the edges. My only hope is that you are still operating when I'm in a position to really give it a full overhaul.
