When I was fresh of my basic RO course got a posting over to WA (96). One of the PT's heard I could play footy and had a contact at Subiaco. So I went along knowing nothing of WA footy. Gary Buckenara was the coach (yeah I had heard of him I guess). Running around the paddock thinking he looks familiar, and he looks familiar, and he looks familiar. They were all the Eagles players. Was awesome running around training with guys like Mckenna, Matera, Kemp
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Cooked for Bob Hawke , Gough Whitlam, Sir Joh Bjelki, my dad, Mal Meninga, Eden Gaha, ET, Marina Pryor, Bob Downe, Peter Berner, and i have dined with Alan Border.

Favourite was cooking for the inventor of the triton Mr George Lewin, he was a real nice bloke to chat with. He was in Canberra as guest speaker for the Canberra Triton Club.

Best I can do is I had Bea Miles in my taxi cab in Sydney. I had to threaten to take it down to the cab wash to get her out.

I supplied all the roofing materials for Kerry Packers property at Ellerston Station in the Hunter Valley about 80 to 100 tonnes.

When I was a new graduate, a bloke walked into the consulting room by the name of Murray, John. Occupation "I've got a garage in Bondi". I was too embarrassed to comment further as I had recognised him as Gelignite Jack.

I once had a job in Perth setting up sound equipment for functions around town. One of my jobs each week was setting up the mikes for Perth's footy show (in some pub). Each week I'd go back to collect the gear and I'd occasionally have casual chats with whoever was around.

The trouble was, I was from Sydney and didn't know of any Aussie rules players. I was sharing a unit with a few people from Melbourne, and I used to annoy the hell out of them by pointing to people on the TV news saying: "I was talking to that bloke today, who's he?"

Apparently they were famous, but to me thgey could have been people who worked at the pub. For example, I told them that I had a joke with this young Aboriginal guy who had a bunch of flowers and was waiting for a taxi outside the pub. "Someone's trying to get out of trouble" I said to him as I loaded the van. My friends that night told me that he was one of the Cracker brothers. It just goes to show how shallow the whole fame thing is.

That's right. It didn't do much for me at the time either. It was a strange situation, though, being surrounded by "famous" sports stars and not knowing it. And when you don't know it, they look so ordinary.

Have shaken the hand of Ferdinand Marcos. Related by marriage to Mark Latham and Grant McBride. Had a beer and a smoke with Ernie Dingo when I "starred" on one of his early shows. Was in the same high school class as Chook Fowler. Lived across the road from Terry Lamb's father in law, can still remember the hangovers when Terry visited for a BBQ. Tim Flannery is a cousin. Christopher Dale Flannery is no relation, nor is Justice Flannery.

My sister works at Featherdale wildlife park, so she's got a long list...

Last week she met Robert de Niro and Gwen Stefani.
