While we're on the subject of Mel Brooks' movies (and the man is a genuine comic genius), one of my other favourites is "History of the World - Part 1".

Mel himself takes a number of parts, including King Louis the Umpteenth of France. Quote: "It's good to be the King!"

    Love it!

Why is it that some of his best movies don't click? Must be a narrow market for warped minds. I'm pleased to say that my son has inherited his old man's diseased sense of humour. The first time he saw "Blazing Saddles" he came close to wetting himself. He was about seven or eight at the time and his appreciation has only grown as he has come to understand some of the gags that went over his head when he was a little fella.

Canadian movie, were the make a giant goose out of duct tape and take it to a duct tape competition.

    Just plain weird, but funny

"Running on empty" as a teenager I loved that movie , as a young adult I was embarassed by my previous infatuation , as a more mature mind I now know it was a spoof, nothing is that badly done by accident .

It was a comedy wasn't it?

"Hercules returns" was absolutely hilarious I laughrd so much I cried and my sides ached. Australian movie, basically about a couple of blokes that open an independant cinema with the rest of the cinema industry plotting against them. Come opening night and they've gotten a hold of an old classic "Hercules". Unfortunately just before opening they realise it's in Italian sans subtitles. They decide to dub it themselves "on the fly". Mayhem ensues!

    "Running on empty"

Great movie - yeah crappy 80's stuff, but entertaining. I wish I could get a copy of Midnight Spares, can't even order a copy anymore

I also love Wraith with Charlie Sheen - OK so I like Charlie Sheen, well all the Sheen's actually, but that's beside the point.

    cheers

    Hmmm where to start....

All those old sword and sorcery movies with unknown actors (Beastmaster is the exception as it was great)

Then you have the b grade sci-fi that try to be serious.

But for me my all time favourite is Space Balls.

Another one that is not funny but IMHO an excellent movie that got trashed was DUNE.

Another which springs to mind is "Drop dead Fred", cause it had P- "Rick" from The Youngs Ones in it, just as obnoxious and funny.
