Hey Dave, dont spend all your time at work.
You have to keep some time for the shed
otherwise all that blackwood will go blacker.
Look after yourself, don't overdo it.

Well an update, i have been trying to read the days posts on the forum each night but have missed a few days.
The job yep well its a life style change not a job but here is what has happened in the past 4 weeks.
The first pay thursday/friday and monday to friday (7 days) was 83 hours and $2050 pay
The last fortnight - (9 days due to Queens birthday holiday) was 106 hours - pay due Wednesday so dont know how much yet - so it looks as if the hours are going to be around 11 or 12 a day which is severely effecting my pleasure hours in the shed - havent been there since i started work -
This will have to change, money is not everything and has never been that to me. Anyway it pays the bills for the time being until something more appropriate comes along.
Thanks again for all your good wishes
cheersregards
David

Remember this
So that was May this is October -
After seeing an ad in the local paper for the last 5 weeks for an interstate truck driver to Adelaide that happened to be for the same company i finally got the courage/balls to stand up and say "i have tried this crane truck stuff and am not enjoying it one bit" - that was after i mentioned a change 6 weeks ago. I was then told that there is a company policy that if you are employed as a crane truck driver you cant change across.
So into the CEO's office on Tuesday and the interview -
Him i hear you are not happy Me no i hate driving crane trucks, you wont remember but in the intial interview in May i said i would give it as go and i dont like it one bit. - I spent the last 4 years in the previous job hating going to work everyday and dont intend to ever do that again.
Him well we are having trouble getting drivers for the interstate so we could overlook the policy and get you into the interstate trucks - you would need to drive a "B double" Me i realised if i wanted to change i may need this and got my MC(multi combination) licence 3 weeks ago so i met any requirements an employer had.
Him what do you think of the extra trailer Me it is longer but backing it wont take long to get used too, i dont mind it (I have already done a trip to Adelaide in one)
Him would you be prepared to keep driving the crane trucks until we get another driver - i dont want to leave **** (loading coordinator) shorthanded Me what will he do if i'm not here - i dont see the difference
Him would you do a crane job in future if we are "stuck" Me I'm a soft touch but it wouldnt want to be more than once a month
Him i am looking to employ interstate drivers as permanents not casuals Me i will think about it - reason i told him - i am not really that keen because if i am permanent and you say go drive that crane truck i dont have a choice, i do what i'm told. But if i am casual and you say drive the crane truck i can say "if that is all the work you have today i'm not avaialble", i realise you may crack the shytes and not offer me more work but i have control over what i do. Him think about it we'll discuss this later on.
Him so you are now an interstater Me thank you that is all that i wanted.
So you can see i have changed jobs inside the same company - Difference is i went into this meeting with all the company stuff in the car cleaned ready to return and their key already off the key ring.
So now instead of driving this (2) i drive this (1)regards

All that time, nothing to do but refine the shapes of the pieces you want to make until they're absolutely perfect in your head... only to be frustrated as all hell when you discover that the hands just can't/won't translate it into wood.
Thinking can be frustrating.
Good luck.
