Rab, terrific work
A real credit to your workmanship.
I have the incra book linked above (bought from Grahame & Marita), it is very detailed and informative. Anyone considering purchasing the book who is coming to the forum BBQ can have a squiz at mine if interested.
Cheers...................Sean

After the recent rash of double dovies lately, I'm wondering whether a Gifkins Jig could do similar... waddya reckon, Gumby?
Or would it be too damned fiddly trying set up? Pity the Gifkins' is dependant on the predetermined "comb type" spacings.

I've tried to work out ways to do them on a Gifkins and the only way I can see it done is to have a separate template to cut the first dovetails. they need to be slightly wider, that's all. I think it would be interesting to ask Roger at the WWW show and see if he has anything planned.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Thanks for all your comments, folks.
Hi Billylad,
The box measures approx 30cm X 20cm x 9.5cm. I did not formally design the box - it just evolved as I was making it and the size was determined by the timber pieces that I had on hand. I didn't log the time I spent on it but I finished it in four weekends.
Cheers,
Rab.

I've spoken to Roger about this a couple of times and his problem is the router bite. He needs to order minimum lots of 100 so it basically becomes economically unviable.
I don't think it is possible to do the job with the current range of templates and bits. I have fiddled with doing a first cut and then moving the timber sideways and doing a second cut. This gives width but not depth. Just not worth the hassle.

Great box Rabster.
I like your use of timbers with muted tones.

Rabster,
Any chance you might show us a photographic step through of the processes in making this excellent box?
