Thought I'd check out your lat and long on Google Earth! It's got you living in the scrub

It's actually the lat/long of the weather station, which is the white dot in the clearing to the north of your mouse pointer at the southern end of the airstrip. Not sure what my actual lat/long is but you can see my house if you know where to look. The satellite photo must've been taken just after Christmas because you can see the water tank but no roof on the house.

Well, I was close
Looks like you've got a good surfing beach and it all looks rather green! One of these days I'll have to head south and check it out.

Wow you guys are all so organised (and cashed up too!).
Although we had our frame roofed immediately and wrapped soon after, some of our walls were stone, and it took a total of two years for us to finish these walls and seal the building. That's two years of open joists (yellow tongue would not have lasted the distance) and no plaster - and we slept in this every weekend during that period. We plastered up a cupboard tucked under the high end of a raked ceiling, and that was warm and protected.
Of course now we appreciate the smaller comforts more than ever.
Cheers
