While in Bunnings Balcatta (Perth) had a look at the flat packs. Boxes all say "Made in China".

i had a rep show me today a comparison test with au board and the chinese imported stuff ,well i have seen a lot of things but it astounded me as to how much their board blew up in water ,as someone said its green/blue line in colour and in au thats supposed to signify h.m.r board .
but when you import it sheet happens
the government has a lot to answer for when the manufacturing jobs are all overseas ,but then again little johnny howard and his mates will be living off an australian pension with free travel and all the perks,it really pisses me off (full spelling intended )that they cant see this problem

I brought a second hand kitchen the other week from Metro Salvage in Bayswater off Collier Rd it came with the lot including the kitchen sink wall cabinets gas stove electric oven and grill for $1800 he also threw in a bathroom vanity. The only thing I had to do is rearrange the cabinets to fit my kitchen, meaning that now I have to look for benchtops, as my old ones aren,t the style we want as well as the ones that came with the kitchen . Metro was the best value after spending 2 days visiting all salvage yards in Perth. He has kitchens starting from $400 that I saw there.
If anyone knows where I can get bench tops it would be a great help

Hey Larry! I saw the Metro Salvage ad in the Quokka two weeks ago and we rang up asking about the kitchens. We're yet to go have a look but are considering it if they are good. I'm also going to go to Ross's Salvage. Could I ask how old the kitchen is and the appliances?
For benchtops, I suggest searching in the Quokka - there are some places that come up from Malaga that sell new benchtops including granite.
