I do encourage the kids, and partially fund them, if only to retain a quiet life and the continuance of the morning cup of tea.

Interestingly, my Mother lives in the UK. They have never heard of Mothers or Fathers day.

Listen to the wisdom of the blokes. If you want pearls, tell him "I WANT PEARLS!" verbatim. No hints, no beating around the bush, no cyptics comments. We don't listen much, and when we do we immediately tune out to whimsy.

im not sure wat i want for mothers day i got a brill pressie last yr
i have a hot pink and purple tool bag it fits my pink hammer and all the essentials plus the soldering iron and basic ham radio stuff its beilliant when we are away in field on comms excersizes ... cheers all jules

As much as you girls love dropping hints men arent good at interpreting them. ask for what you want clearly and precisely and you will be surprised at how often your request will be realised. i bet its far more often than you get by dropping subtle hints
