Interestingly, my Mother lives in the UK. They have never heard of Mothers or Fathers day.
Listen to the wisdom of the blokes. If you want pearls, tell him "I WANT PEARLS!" verbatim. No hints, no beating around the bush, no cyptics comments. We don't listen much, and when we do we immediately tune out to whimsy.

Any woman who relies on anything less than dragging the silly sod into the shop and saying "Buy that ... NOW!" deserves to be disappointed. Sorry, but that's the way it is wiv us blokey types
The silly part is, even the most romantic blokes (like my good self) like being told what it is their dear heart would love to receive. It's true. We're pathetic that way.

It's freaking MOTHER'S DAY AGAIN:confused:

I just want to complement everyone, particularly Al, on the restraint shown in replies to this thread.

Mothers Day? Oh, you mean "Time for all non-telepathic blokes to air the bedding in the doghouse" Day?
Is it that time of year already?

Mothers-day:eek:   Good lord what next!
Why is it that women WANT to be liberated and treated as "EQUALS", and then have the nerve to expect MEN to buy them gifts on comercially promoted occasions:eek:
When did "thank you" stop being a sign of appreciation?
Ok I will now duck for coverI try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it
