Actually, our national anthem is a bloody sight better than a lot of them, including that embarrassment the yanks use, but yeah, it could be better

Just as well we have such a pathetic, pompous confection. I'd hate to be standing next to you at the Rugby kick off if it was more stimulating.

    Anything by ABBA:mad:
And I think there's some unreasonable bias against country & western, yeah I'll admit most of it is twaddle, but sometimes a gem appears, like Johnny Cash, and there's some great stuff on the periphery...like the WAIFS, and Paul Kelly with his recent bluegrass outing.

I hate to sound like seven degrees of separation but...

Rick Rubin who discovered/produced the first Beastie Boys album "licensed to ill" also resurected The Man in Black's career.

Johnny Cash and Rick Rubin - now there was a collaboration - especially the cover version of Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus on American IV

There is NOTHING  more stimulating (to me) than going to a Bledisloe Cup with around 100,000 folk and singing the National Anthem (which I hate!!) and Waltzing Matilda (which should be the National Anthem). I mean that is a proper religion!!!! (refer to Open Slather). And after 80 minutes of rugby-love-making it is like having a cigarette to watch the Black filled Southern Stand vacate in under 2 minutes flat!!!

As for the worst song (Still feels like we're doing your homework you spotty little herbert ) you can't go past - now sing along -

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more

na na na, na na na
na na na, na na na
lika lika lika lika lika la, la, la

Try to stop that crazy little mother running through your head for the next couple of days!!!!

    Cheers!!!

"She's having my baby". (I think this is the title, it is repeated often enough in the chorus)

"Burn" by Tina Arena or anyone else who covers it.

My ears close with a clang any time either or these gets any airtime.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonay in one hand - Strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming - "WOO WOO...What a ride"
