That more or less aligns with my experiences too. I was never struck by a teacher – in anger or otherwise. Any deserved (and it was wholly deserved) punishment was always transferred to the headmaster's province, who then, in complete impartiality, administered punishment, not enraged abuse.
Bad temper and knee-jerk reactions seldom solve anything..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Oh and I've never been to a school reunion either. I suspect that my recollections of all the hot girls I went to school with would be highly disappointed by the attendees.
And of course, I haven't changed a bit...Bob C.
Never give up.

I remember a lot of things that happened at school, one being in form 5 (year 11), someone asked the very good looking and well endowed science teacher what colour jocks she had on and she showed us, what do you call that

Before I start I will say that I was caned injustly in grade 3 in the following circumstances:
Teacher is out of room, class idiot comes to my desk and starts hassling me.
I take as much as I'm going to take, get up and chase him across the room.
He looks over his shoulder to see how close I am, runs in to a pin up board and breaks open the large scab he has on his hand from a push bike accident.
Teacher walks in sees the idiot on the floor bleeding heavily and me stood over him.
Teachers puts 2+2 together, gets 6 and I get three with the cane.
That said I support corporal punishment.
The fact is that fear is a good thing, when I got sent to the office or got told by mum to wait till dad got home I was scared. We behaved because we feared the consequences. These days kids have no fear of the consequences and it shows in their behaviour.
There was actually a study done that proved categorically that youth crime, particularly assault, and assault against teachers has increased significantly since corporal punishment was phased out.
Oh, and I had to wait until after school but the class idiot didn't hassle me again - that was after he repeatedly tried to hit my fist with his face rofl.
