Thanks Master Splinter, often wondered about the story. Seems exagerated but had a small element of truth re the post war boom. Like your approach re the food quality.

Flood the Japanese with a commercial campaign about the whaling fleets. Just like we get a campaign about drink driving and so on. A private consort could do it. Happs in the US!

Personally, I think a scare campaign pointing out the risks of these to the food-quality conscious Japanese would be a good way of decreasing demand for whale meat. That, or just keep donating to the Sea Shepherd Society. (they ram whaling ships)

Interesting that they are so concerned about chemicals etc, but the Tokyo fish markets must be the most unhygenic place on earth!

Maybe Rudd could persuade them with hopes of really signing KYTO if the STOP whaling
