    Thanks Master Splinter, often wondered about the story. Seems exagerated but had a small element of truth re the post war boom. Like your approach re the food quality.

    Default flood them

    Flood the Japanese with a commercial campaign about the whaling fleets. Just like we get a campaign about drink driving and so on. A private consort could do it. Happs in the US!
    Don't pass them by! Be daring and caring!

    Dampen their misery....sit with them and talk a little.

    Buy them something to eat and a tram fare to a local mission.
    I'm so lucky that I've somewhere to live and have family support.

    Interesting that they are so concerned about chemicals etc, but the Tokyo fish markets must be the most unhygenic place on earth!

    Maybe Rudd could persuade them with hopes of really signing KYTO if the STOP whaling
